Leon Luyben is Business Development Manager at Royal Cosun, a Dutch agro-food cooperative with over 125 years of agricultural heritage. What started with crops like sugar beet, chicory, and potatoes has evolved into a key role in the protein transition. Today, Cosun ingredients are already part of everyday products—often without consumers even realising it.

Driven by scaling impactful, novel ingredients, Leon has spent the past eight years building commercial momentum—shaping routes to market and unlocking new product–market combinations. At Cosun, he and his team are accelerating into the hybrid and plant-based space, working with a powerful portfolio of texturizers, proteins, and fibres—from fava bean protein isolate to inulin from chicory root. The focus is shifting further: from single ingredients to smart, functional solutions that enable better food. Practical, forward-looking, and rooted in real-world application, Leon is helping shape what’s next on our plates.
